KEEP COOL TRAIL
|
Yellow Aster Butte [156 Kb]
|
Of all the trails we hiked while staying at our basecamp at
Snowater,
the Keep Cool Trail is the one we returned to most often. With dozens of
small tarns to entertain the kids, the meadows at the base of
Yellow Aster Butte provide a rewarding destination for all. We hiked here
in mid summer to experience the peak of alpine meadow bloom, early autumn
for the fall colours, and even during late autumn snowfalls.
Although we never ventured beyond the medows or Yellow Aster Butte, the trail
continues on for several kilometers to the slopes below the summit of Mount Tomyhoi.
The Keep Cool Trail has now been decommissioned, the area now reached by the
Yellow Aster Butte
trail.
