Travel
Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia (BC), Canada, is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, and lies off the western coast of the mainland of the province. Travelers to Victoria can fly directly in to the Victoria International Airport (YYJ) from many places including Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver and Seattle, or sail to Victoria on a BC ferry from Vancouver. Flying in is the fastest way to arrive, but the ferry is the most scenic during day time! The University of Victoria is located about 30 km south of the airport, this is either a $50 taxi ride, or about $14 by airport bus. Rental cars are available at the airport. Detailed information on how to get to UVic can be found here.

Parking
If you are driving to the University of Victoria along McKenzie Avenue, stay on that road and cross Finnerty Road at the traffic light. [McKenzie now becomes Sinclair Road.] You will soon come to signs indicating Parking Lot 5 on the right hand side. Park in this lot in the General parking area. (See this parking map - Parking lot 5 is on the centre right side, and coloured blue.)
If you come to UVic from downtown, enter the campus and follow the one-way Ring Road to the Finnerty Road intersection, turn right onto Finnerty Road, and then right at the traffic light. You are now on Sinclair Road. Proceed down Sinclair until you see the signs indicating Parking Lot 5 on the right hand side. Park in this lot in the General parking area. Once you have parked, look for the parking fee machine, where you can purchase a parking ticket. These machines accept (and make change) for Canadian coins, and VISA and MASTERCARD. The cost is $5/day plus tax.
